SPMS participates as a speaker in the visit of the Italian delegation to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Health

SPMS was present on a visit made by the Italian delegation from the Azienda Unità Sanitaria Locale (AUSL) – Health Service of the Emilia-Romagna Region – to SGMS on November 15th. Through the session “Driving Healthcare Innovation: Portugal’s Digital Health Commitment Showcase”, SPMS had the opportunity to share the national experience in the process of digital healthcare transformation. 

As part of the development of primary health care in the Emilia-Romagna region, the Italian delegation carried out this visit to deepen their knowledge of the Portuguese national health system, as well as the health information systems that play a fundamental role in improving the quality of services offered. 

Inês Lourenço, international health projects manager, represented SPMS, describing the work developed in the digitalization of the health sector, at national and international level. In this session, topics such as the services provided by the omnichannel SNS24, the epidemiological surveillance support platforms SINAVE, VACINAS and BI-SINAVE and the importance of the MyHealth@EU infrastructure in providing cross-border health services were also discussed. 

In addition to SPMS, the Executive Board of NHS, representatives of the Family Health Units – National Association (USF-AN) and the Central Administration of the Health System (ACSS) were also present at the session, reporting, respectively, on the organization and future challenges/opportunities regarding primary health care. 

Focusing on the continuous commitment and excellence in the digital transformation of the health sector, SPMS had another opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with Italy, in order to implement effective strategies regarding digital health.
